Revitalize Your Skin with Facial Rejuvenation Treatments

Overview

Attaining youthful and glowing skin has become more accessible than ever due to advancements in facial rejuvenation treatments. These customized solutions cater to various needs, ranging from reducing fine lines to restoring lost volume, with options available for both non-surgical and surgical procedures.

Types of Facial Rejuvenation Treatments

  • Botox: A non-surgical treatment that reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines by relaxing facial muscles.
  • Dermal Fillers: Injectable treatments that restore volume and plumpness to areas of the face that have lost collagen and elasticity.
  • Chemical Peels: A procedure that removes dead skin cells and promotes the growth of new, healthy skin for a more youthful appearance.
  • Laser Resurfacing: Uses laser technology to improve skin tone and texture, reduce age spots, and stimulate collagen production.
  • Facelift: Surgical procedure that lifts and tightens sagging skin to rejuvenate the face and neck.

It’s important to consult with a qualified cosmetic surgeon or dermatologist to determine the best treatment plan for your individual skincare needs.

Treatment Options

Non-Surgical Treatments

Opting for non-surgical alternatives can achieve effective results with minimal downtime:

Botox and Dermal Fillers

Botox relaxes facial muscles to smooth wrinkles, while dermal fillers restore lost volume and enhance facial contours.

Advantages: Addressing fine lines, volume loss, and subtle enhancements.

Chemical Peels

Exfoliate the top layers of the skin for rejuvenation, especially effective for treating sun damage, pigmentation issues, and acne scars.

Benefits: Improving skin texture and tone.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Stimulate collagen production for firmer, youthful skin by targeting lines, scars, and pigmentation problems.

Best for: Enhancing skin firmness and reducing imperfections.

Surgical Treatments

For more dramatic and long-lasting outcomes, consider opting for surgical interventions:

Facelift

Tighten skin, reduce wrinkles, and restore facial contours to achieve a more youthful appearance.

Best for: Addressing signs of aging in the mid-face and jawline.

Eyelid Surgery

Eradicate excess skin and fat to rejuvenate tired-looking eyes.

Best for: Rectifying puffiness and improving vision.

Neck Lift

Focusing on sagging skin and excess fat in the neck and jawline to sculpt a more defined and youthful neck.

Best for: Treating loose skin and aging signs in the lower face and neck.

Heat fuses and damages vessels, prompting the immune system to break it down and remove it. Patients typically require anywhere from one to five procedures.

Intense Pulsed Light, or IPL, utilizes a broad spectrum of light shifted simultaneously to treat various conditions, most commonly pigmentation and redness. IPL usually contains a longer wavelength of light that also “excites” collagen-synthesizing cells, helping initiate this process. One to three procedures are recommended with annual maintenance.

The Fraxel® DUAL laser uses a deep wavelength and creates microscopic laser columns that help stimulate collagen production, aiding in scar repair, pigment removal, and sun damage.

Ablative Lasers

Our CO2 laser superficially refreshes and ablates (removes) the top layers of the skin. This is typically done under anesthesia to make the patient more comfortable. It has a significantly longer recovery time but leads to more dramatic improvement in one session. The CO2 laser improves skin texture, firmness, and scars. It is often used in conjunction with blepharoplasty and facelifts to help soften surgical scars.

Microneedling

Microneedling is used to treat fine lines, scars, and pigmentation. Very thin needles are typically used at specific controlled depths to create micro-injuries in the skin. These micro-injuries help stimulate our body’s healing process, producing more collagen and elastin, jumpstarting our skin’s turnover. As a result, you get new skin faster, shedding old skin and pigmentation. A substance like hyaluronic acid is used to allow the needles to glide smoothly on the skin. Patients typically leave the office pinkish with some sensitivity. We recommend one to three procedures for optimal results.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels use a series of acids, usually from plant/fruit sources. Peels superficially refresh the skin, brighten pigmentation, reduce acne, and stimulate collagen production. We usually start with a light peel before moving to a more advanced one. Our lighter peels are great for starting a series, maintaining previous results, or preparing for a special event. They reduce skin flakiness, and your skin may feel dry and flaky. As intensity increases, prepare for a longer recovery time. The peel is a liquid applied with an applicator. We typically have to wait from three to eight minutes for the peel to penetrate to the desired depth, where we will either use more layers or neutralize it. Applying the peel causes warmth, tingling, and itching until neutralization.

Injections and Fillers

Neurotoxins, such as BOTOX® Cosmetic or Dysport®, are injected into the muscle to help reduce/stop movement. This helps smooth out and prevent fine wrinkles. BOTOX Cosmetic or Dysport is used for forehead lines, crow’s feet, and lines around the mouth. It typically lasts for three months, and it may take up to seven days to see results.Facials are great for acne treatment and skincare maintenance. They involve deep cleansing and exfoliation to remove dead skin. Extractions are done on blackheads, whiteheads, and milia. Following extractions, masks, serums, or creams are applied to hydrate and calm the skin. The HydraFacial® is a facial system that deeply cleanses, extracts, and hydrates using vortex fusion technology, leaving you with clear, glowy skin.

Skin Tightening Ultherapy®

Ultherapy uses ultrasound waves at controlled depths to tighten, lift, and produce collagen. It is FDA-approved for lifting the neck, chin, and brow. Typically, patients experience pinkness and swelling. One to three treatments are recommended for the best results.

Best Products and Tips to Help Keep Skin Rejuvenated

Three essential products for skin rejuvenation:

  • Vitamin C during the day brightens, lightens, and tightens the skin while providing sun protection. SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic® or skinbetter science® Alto Defense Serum™ are popular choices at Advanced Dermatology & Skin Surgery.
  • Vitamin A (retinoids) increases collagen production, resurfaces the skin, protects cellular DNA, and normalizes the skin.
  • SPF during the day protects from UV damage that can cause early aging, sun damage, and skin cancer. EltaMD® offers a variety of sunscreens for different skin types, including tinted options.

I always emphasize to patients that 80% of how their skin looks comes from homecare and 20% from skincare treatments. Consistent use of professional skincare products and avoiding over-exfoliation are key. Also, getting rid of magnification mirrors can prevent obsessing over minor flaws in the skin.
